It´s been too long…

A lot has been happening which is taking up a lot of time and not letting me write much! Not to mention not inspiring me much either. First, work continues to be a lot more time than I initially bargained for. I think I am getting more used to it by now but it´s still not at a level I want it to be at long term. But either I´ve learned a lot and I´m starting to do things a bit faster, or we haven´t had enough high pressure visits or I don´t know what, but now I get home around 7:00 pm or 7:30 pm at night instead of midnight almost every night.  Watch me say that this week and jinx it for next week. But the good thing is that because of the better recent work schedule I´ve been able to do my week runs around 8 pm or so once the kids are tucking in for the night.  It hasn´t been easy because most days I just want to get in bed and watch some TV before zonking out for the night, but I think I am somewhat on track to run this marathon on November 3rd.  But basically between work, the kids, and marathon training I don’t have time for much else except the occasional 30 min of Netflix at night before going to sleep.

Jose and I did enjoy a nice trip to Guadalajara a couple of weekends ago, it was a nice early birthday day present since basically I haven´t been able to do anything for my birthday other than go out with the work group for lunch. We went for my friend Lety´s 40th birthday party and it was a blast. So great to see friends, enjoy the heat, and eat a TON of Mexican food! I think I am now OK Mexican food-wise for the next 6 months or so.

Yesterday my husband also gave me tickets to this amazing food festival in Peru called MISTURA, so we took some time during lunch to go and explore and it was so incredible. Definitely worth a visit if you´re living in Peru! And maybe even a visit TO Peru if you aren´t J especially now that it feels like we have turned the corner on winter and are solidly headed into warmer weather!

Now I´m enjoying a bit of time due to the fact that I´m working at a Starbucks and the internet connection back to the office is painfully slow. Hopefully I will get to post shortly after the marathon to relay my experience; I know it´ll be something (one way or another!). Wish me luck! Whatever happens I feel like after the marathon I will feel like I have so much time on my hands I won´t know what to do with myself. Oh yeah, work. L
